The song "Flood” written and performed by Jars of Clay suitable to the situation of the Philippines wherein many cities and provinces experienced flash floods from heavy rains due to a southwest monsoon being enhanced by tropical storm Maring (international name: Trami)

Historically, the song “Flood” is considered to be the breakthrough song of Jars of Clay due to airplay on contemporary Christian music and alternative rock radio stations, two radio formats which rarely interact with one another. It was released in 1995 on their self-titled debut album.
